AREA’s Annual General Meeting will took place Thursday, January 24, 2019.
At the AGM, members approved changes to AREA’s bylaws, as a result of the work done by the Governance Committee.
AREA Governance Changes
We’re moving to a member-election process (instead of previous board appointments) – Our members are now directly accountable for who is elected to the AREA Board of Directors. Any member can make an application to the Nominating Committee to be an AREA director, so long as they meet the eligibility criteria.
We’re reducing the size of the board. To ensure our REALTORS® and local Boards/Associations are still properly represented, members will be elected from geographical regions:
